Merritt Island FOE#4257 filled backpacks and raised $5500 for the Children’s Hunger Project. An Organization that provides backpacks of food, for over the weekend, for over 4400 area children weekly. When Hurricane Ian came to town on September 28, 2022, Eagle Village suffered extensive damage. Most of the retired Eagle residents were without power for a full week. First to respond with aid was Bradenton Aerie #3171 and the Eagle Riders of #3171. The Riders donated $500 and the Aerie matched their donation, giving $500 plus donating food and supplies. Eagle Village Council members Tom Hejra and Sally Whipple presented certificates of appreciation from the Village residents to Aerie President Ed Rayburn and Eagle Riders President Rick Killion.
