Hanover 10:10 Action Group, part of Hanover Action for Sustainable Living, is organising an afternoon of performance, practical information and interaction on Sunday October 10th at Hanover Community Centre from 3- 6pm as part of 10:10:10, the biggest-ever day of positive action on climate change.
The afternoon will feature 10 stalls with information and advice to help you cut your carbon emissions:
Home energy efficiency and grants, Solar panels, Wind turbines, Energy audits and grants for small businesses, Car clubs, Cycling, including Lewes Road Bike Train, Buses, Local food, Signing up to 10:10, Helping in Hanover
And
Another big feature will be “Connected” a new show by local outfit Moving Sounds. The show seeks to present some of the causes and consequences of climate change and broader ecological issues in a fun and entertaining way. They explore issues like energy use, global foot printing, oil consumption and alternative energy sources and seek solutions from the audience. The show invites plenty of participation and draws on the knowledge of everyone watching – it’s aimed at anyone aged 11 and above.
Following the show, Moving Sounds will be running a workshop on the issues raised, using discussion, mind-mapping, music and performance.
Doors open upstairs at the community centre at 3pm, the Connected show will be at 4pm for about an hour, and the workshop will follow. The stalls will be there to visit throughout. For more information or with offers of help contact Hanover1010@gmail.com
