Meeting Haywards Heath 5th September was arranged by FoE and led by Brenda Pollack and Tim Gee. Approx 40 people attended: from Brighton, Haywards Heath, Balcombe village, Balcombe protesters camp, Forest Row, Eastbourne, Kent. Four B+H FoE members attended.
– General and very useful exchange of information on Cuadrilla and Celtique exploration drilling sites.
– Discussion on Cuadrilla’s withdrawal of application to WSCC to extend their exploration planning permission at Balcombe beyond 29th Sept 2013. Information that they have said they will be putting in another application in the future. No further details.
– Discussion on “what do we do next?”. Information on Global Frackdown Day Sat Oct 19th. Probably outside West Sussex County Council offices, Chichester.
– Formation of a new FOE group for “rural” West Sussex people. A co-ordinator appointed. Tim Gee to take forward. Exact name of group not yet decided.
